The Fire Prevention Institute focuses on important prevention and strategy issues facing fire officials, and provides networking opportunities related to education, engineering, and enforcement efforts to help improve safety in our communities, and help minimize loss due to the devastating effects of fire.  The Institute also includes essential training hours needed for code recertification of local code enforcement officials, public educators and fire investigators.

The topics for the FPI are based on the survey returns from the 2025 FPI. These surveys are very vital to us as we continue to meet your needs for great educational programs.

Topics this year will include: data and fire inspections, energy storage systems, member wellness, fireworks, CRR, and fire sprinklers to name a few.

Mindset Matters

How to Become a Transformative Leader, Manager, Supervisor, or Influencer.

Mindset matters.

A surprisingly high percentage of our personal and organizational change efforts fail because we apply quick fixes without addressing the upstream causes. This fast paced, interactive, one-day training will introduce you to a combination of mental models and disciplines that together enable you to build stronger relationships, foster more robust trust, increase collaboration, and achieve better results. You will learn how to change how you think and move from a transactional to a transformational mindset.

Your mindset shapes your place in relationships, families, teams, and organizations. Your mindset shapes your behaviors, perspectives, and relationships. Mindset shapes everything.

Learn how you naturally lean toward either a “We and Mission” mindset, focusing on the adventure with others, or toward a “Me and Mine” mindset, focusing on your own security and comfort. Discover how the “Me and Mine” mindset eventually erodes your work and relationships. Then learn how the “We and Mission” mindset results in profound and transformative results for your organization, team, and relationships.

In this class you will learn how to change your mindset. This one-day training will show you how to move from blaming others to building accountability disengagement to engagement inaction to innovation craving comfort and security to creating real, lasting, and worthy outcomes feeling threatened by change to leaning into it and much more!
