Fire Inspector 1 Boot Camp - RESCHEDULED

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we will be rescheduling the Fire Inspector 1 Boot camp. The new dates will be June 8th-11th. The class will be held at Marysville Station 62. All registrations will automatically be moved to the new dates. If you cannot attend the new dates, please contact our office for a refund.

2018 Fire Code Update Classes - NOW ONLINE

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we have moved our Code Update Classes to a new online format. We are excited about this new opportunity. The new format will allow you to ask questions of the instructor and interact with your peers. The regional locations will identify the likely areas where the participants will reside. Once registered, you will receive a link from the instructor a week prior to the class. Please ensure that you have a mic and speakers for your computer.

This two-day course provides new fire marshals and those aspiring to be fire marshals with a primer of the subjects required to be successful. It serves as a refresher for experienced fire marshals to brush up on management skills.  The information provided in this course is designed to better help you understand the issues facing management of a fire prevention program.

The Washington State Association of Fire Marshals (WSAFM) is pleased to announce a one-day training course on the IFC and IBC Hazardous Materials Provisions. This seminar will examine the application of code requirements in the 2015 IFC and the 2015 IBC to determine compliance for the storage, use, handling and dispensing of hazardous materials. Participants should bring a copy of the 2015 IFC and IBC to the class. A class workbook will be provided but copies of the IFC and IBC will not be provided. Class runs from 8:00am to 4:00pm 

ICC Preferred Provider CEU's will be awarded to those attending!

October 21-25, 2019 - Campbell’s Resort ~ Lake Chelan

 

The Washington State Association of Fire Marshals, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Washington Public Fire Educators, and the IAAI - Washington Chapter, is pleased to announce the dates for the 2019 Fire Prevention Institute (FPI).   The FPI is being held at Campbell’s Resort at Lake Chelan, and will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019, and will conclude before noon on Friday, October 25, 2019.   The Fire Prevention Institute focuses on important prevention and strategy issues facing fire officials and will include essential training hours needed for code recertification.  

 

WSAFM will issue ICC Continuing Education Credits!!

 

Room rates will be based on the government per diem rate in effect October 1, 2019.  In order to receive this special rate, reservations must be made by September 15, 2019. Once this date has passed, or the room block has been filled, you will need to find alternate lodging. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel by calling (800) 553-8225. Please be sure to provide registration code #492992.

Stay up to date with the latest changes to the Fire Code! Attend WSAFM's Fire Code Update class! As most of you are aware, the 2018 International Fire Code goes into effect July 1st, 2020 in the State of Washington. This one-day course will cover code changes from the 2015 to the 2018 edition of the International Fire Code. In addition, a review of the latest Washington State amendments to the Fire Code will be covered.

This course is being offered in multiple locations throughout the State starting in April and running until June (or earlier). 0.65 ICC Preferred Provider CEU's will be awarded to those attending! The classes will normally run from 9am thru 4pm.
