Vision 20/20 Releases Study on Smoke Alarm Issues in the United States

Vision 20/20 (www.strategicfire.org) is releasing an in-depth analysis of smoke alarm and related research focusing on why smoke alarms may not be in as widespread use as previously thought.  Using an extensive literature review and data gathered during a number of Vision 20/20 Assistance to Firefighter Grant funded Community Risk Reduction projects, the study, The Smoke Alarm Problem, sheds light on the problems the fire safety community faces in getting people to install and maintain enough smoke alarms to properly protect their families...

 October 19-23, 2020 - Campbell’s Resort ~ Lake Chelan

Power of Prevention

The Washington State Association of Fire Marshals, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Washington Public Fire Educators, and the IAAI - Washington Chapter, is pleased to announce the dates for the 2020 Fire Prevention Institute (FPI). The FPI is being held at Campbell’s Resort at Lake Chelan, and will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020, and will conclude before noon on Friday, October 23, 2020. The Fire Prevention Institute focuses on important prevention and strategy issues facing fire officials and will include essential training hours needed for code recertification.


Please note that Campbell’s has increased safety measures for COVID-19 and there will be means provided for social distancing and hygiene. We will provide more details prior to the event.
